Retired from plant manager position with GlaxoSmithKline in January of 2005. Arthur spent 37 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing for GlaxoSmithKline, SmithKline Beecham, Beecham Labs and Merck & Co. His experience included management of both bulk chemical and finished product operations. Over his extensive career his leadership spanned manufacturing, budgeting, quality assurance, manpower planning, process development, materials management, employee safety and health and governmental compliance. The latter included Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance.

Arthur earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from Manhattan College in 1967. He was married in1968 and had four children who now are raising their own ten children.
